As I promised before, I have a review of the wonderful and fabulous The Light Tamer by Devyn Dawson.

Things begin to look up when she is reintroduced to Caleb, the dorky boy that saved her life one summer at the beach. Caleb is no longer scrawny and nerdy, he is now tall, dark, and handsome. Caleb is a Light Tamer.
Caleb introduces Jessie to Amber, a no frills, snarky, sassy attitude Light Tamer. Her words will have you laughing out loud and gasping 'oh no she didn't'. Amber's father was paralyzed last summer in a surfing accident that left her brother dead and her life upside down. 
This paranormal romance will keep you on the edge of your seat with humor, romance, and determination. Fall head over heels for Caleb and Jessie.


My Review:
This was such a great read. It was 2 of my favorite things... quick and happy! I had no problem diving right into this book and didn't want to put it down. As a matter of fact, I finished it in one night. Jessie is such a "real" girl. She has real life family drama and these days, who doesn't? She and her mother are being forced to leave her hometown and go live in New Bern with her eccentric grandmother, leaving her friends behind. The only friend she had made in New Bern during summer vacations was quite nerdy... until now. 
The minute she sees Caleb again, she can't believe her eyes. It's amazing what time can do for someone. She is instantly attracted and completely shocked when she is asked out on a date with him. This is when she finds out all about what a Light Tamer is. This was so exciting to me because I have never read about Light Tamers before. This was totally new on the paranormal spectrum for me and I was dying to find out more! 

Jessie meets one of Caleb's friends named, Amber. Most people wouldn't take a second thought to being her friend, but Jessie sees right through her quirkiness. I have to say that Amber has to be one of my favorite characters. She has such spunk, attitude and a crazy style. I just can't wait to read the next crazy thing that will come out of her mouth.
Between Jessie's attraction for Caleb, Amber's sassy attitude and Jessie's one of a kind grandmother, I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Hunger Games

So... I'm a little late to jump on the Hunger Games train. My husband read the series well over a year ago and shared how wonderful it was. One of my amazing friends read it way back when too and declared it was her favorite series and outranked Twilight! GASP!
With life getting crazy and not finding time to pick up a book... another GASP!... I finally started it, 2 months ago, but for whatever reason I just couldn't make it through the first couple of chapters. I so badly wanted to finish it before the movie came out so my husband and I could go see it.
Then, all of a sudden... after the movie came out... I couldn't put the book down! LOVED it!
Until...
The end...
No one told me that I would IMMEDIATELY have to pick up the next book because this one was SUCH a cliff hanger! Holy Moly!
But, I haven't, yet. I had to pick up the newest book by Devyn Dawson, The Light Tamer. She sent me an ARC and I flew through it in just a matter of hours. FABULOUS! But we'll discuss that a little bit later. Along with a review and a GIVEAWAY! Oh how I love giveaways!

Now back to the Hunger Games! Oh, Katniss! How can you not love that girl. What an amazing heart she has.
And Peeta... he's such a goof, but you can't help but love him as well. I sure got caught up in the confusion of... is it a game or is he sincere and can totally see where Katniss was confused, as well.
I'm dying! I tell you, DYING... to know what happens when she sees Gale. I guess, with that... I'm off to read Catching Fire.

Breaking Dawn Pt 1 Trailer

Besides Harry Potter, Twilight was THE series that got me hooked on YA. I loved it. There were parts that I didn't love, but for the most part, I will never forget Edward and Bella. When I first watched Twilight, I thought it was just a tad bit cheese-y, but then it grew on me... a lot! The rest of the movies have gotten better and better as they have come out! I have been highly anticipating Breaking Dawn because there were several scenes that I was dying to know how they would create them in the movies!
It's getting closer! And I'm stoked!
